"Emergency Declaration" gears up for the highly anticipated premiere starting off with a press conference.

The star-studded cast featuring Song Kang Ko, Im Siwan, Jeon Do Yeon, Lee Byung Hun, Kim Nam Gil, Kim So Jin, Park Hae Joon, and Han Jae Rim graced the media briefing alongside director Han Jae Rim.

In the "Emergency Declaration" press conference which was held in Seoul, the team shared their thoughts about the upcoming movie and what made it special.

Ahead of the premiere, Showbox, the distributor of the film, teases fans with intriguing still cuts featuring the action thriller movie.

To recall, it originally premiered in July 2021 at the 74th Cannes Film Festival after it was selected for the Out of Competition section.

The cast members and director reunited once again to invite viewers for its theatrical release.

During the "Emergency Declaration" press conference, director Han Jae Rim shared what pushed him to create the film.

As obtained by an outlet, Director Han Jae Rim says that it took him 10 years to finish "Emergency Declaration."

He revealed that the film "was commissioned about 10 years ago" adding that the "setting and planning were good at the time, but I didn't know how to wrap up the story."

Moreover, Han Jae Rim confessed that he has a phobia of flying and his fear pushed him to direct the "Emergency Declaration."

"I thought I wanted to do this. Unfortunately, over the past 10 years, there have been major and minor disasters in Korean society. I have to do this work while watching the disaster. Words came to mind," he explained.

"Emergency Declaration '' depicts a real aviation disaster after an aircraft declared a high alert and demanded an emergency landing.

After a series of delays during filming, the production started in September 2020 and officially wrapped up on October 24, 2020.

Now, following the movie's participation at the Cannes Film Festival, the Han Jae Rim-directed project is scheduled for global release in August.

Song Kang Ho, Jeon Do Yeon, More Talks About Joining 'Emergency Declaration'

Besides the director, cast members also shared their thoughts about the movie.

Song Kang Ho, who recently bagged the Best Actor Award at the 75th Cannes Film Festival says that he is thrilled to introduce the movie after it has been two years since it was initially released.

The same goes for Lee Byung Hun who also noted how it's nice to be reunited with fellow stars.

"When I heard the news that the movie was going to be released, I really wanted one, but it's nice to see all the actors and their faces, and it's real," he said.

As for Jeon Do Yeon, who also bagged Best Actress at the 60th Cannes Film Festival shared that it felt like "a dream to release 'Emergency Declaration.'"

Meanwhile, Im Siwan mentioned that it was a "great honor to be able to greet everyone with great seniors."
