"Hostage: Missing Celebrity" which stars Hwang Jung Min is among the 2021 movies that hit its million mark at the box office. Released on August 18, the action crime film garnered over one million audiences 12 days after its premiere.

At the time, reports noted that the Korean Film Council cited that "Hostage: Missing Celebrity" scored nearly 100,000 viewers on its first day, beating Lee Kwang Soo's movie "Sinkhole." Moreover, the film dominated the Korean movie box office for 15 days straight.

Penned and directed by Pil Gam Seong, "Hostage: Missing Celebrity" follows the story of Korean top movie star Hwang Jung Min who was kidnapped after attending a VIP movie premiere.

At the time, he thought that someone was playing tricks on him, but realized that it was a real abduction after kidnappers demanded a huge amount of ransom within 24 hours.

While in the hands of his captives, he experiences real brutality that is much more intense than he sees in movies.

With over a year since it made a debut and gained popularity at the box office, here's what the "Hostage: Missing Celebrity" cast are up to now.

Starring as himself in "Hostage: Missing Celebrity" he experiences an unthinkable scenario in the hands of the kidnappers.

After the film was recognized in various ceremonies, Hwang Jung Min is back on the big screen with multiple movies. His upcoming films include a team-up with Hyun Bin in "The Point Men" where he transforms into a Korean diplomat.

Apart from it, Hwang Jung Min will also star in "Kill Bok Soon" with Jeon Do Yeon, the historical movie "Spring in Seoul" opposite Jung Woo Sung, Lee Sung Min, and more.

Interestingly, he will return as Detective Seo Do Cheol in "Veteran 2" with Jung Hae In.

Before "Squid Game" and "All of Us Are Dead" Lee Yoo Mi played the role of Ban So Yeon, a shop assistant who gets kidnapped together with film star Hwang Jung Min.

This 2022, she is set to play the lead star in the "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" sequel. Titled "Strong Woman Kang Nam Soon," she will be joined by Ong Seong Wu, Byeon Woo Seok, veteran actress Kim Hae Sook and Kim Jung Eun who will be returning to Kdramaland.

In addition, Lee Yoo Mi will also headline the upcoming sports drama "Mental Coach Je Gal Gil" helmed by "Princess Lulu" and "When My Love Blooms" director Son Jung Hyun.

Another familiar face seen in "Hostage: Missing Celebrity" is Lee Ho Jung who took the role of one of Hwang Jung Min's kidnappers, Saet Byul. She is best known for her role as Yoon Sol in the webtoon-based series "Nevertheless'' starring Song Kang and Han So Hee.

She is currently appearing in "Jinxed At First '' as Ki Do Hoon's fiancee.

Adding to the list of her upcoming projects, Lee Ho Jung will also appear in the action historical Kdrama "Song of the Bandits" alongside Kim Nam Gil and Seohyun as lead stars.
