Bae Suzy looks back at her journey as an actress with her debut K-drama "Dream High." From debuting as a singer and becoming a member of girl group Miss A, she managed to solidify her name in acting and appeared in various series and films.
Now, the 27-year-old star is among the in-demand female lead, headlining smash hit K-dramas like her recent "Anna."
Bae Suzy definitely wowed the viewers with her versatility and ability to portray such a demanding character. Interestingly, before being recognized as one of Hallyu's top stars, she also had a fair share of struggles as a rookie actress.
During her interview with SBS's "MMTG," the singer-actress recalled her experience starring in her first Kdrama "Dream High." Released in 2011, the rom-com series stars Bae Suzy as musical prodigy Go Hye Mi, who majors in classical music.
Besides the singer-actress, "Dream High" also stars now south-after actors and actresses in Kdrama like IU, Kim Soo Hyun, Ok Taecyeon and more.
Bae Suzy's Shares Experiences in First K-drama 'Dream High'
In the SBS show, Bae Suzy talks about her struggles during her rookie days. Then 16-year-old actress filmed "Dream High" and it was her first ever on-screen appearance as an actress.
She tells the host how she "vaguely remember that there were lots of unrealistic scenes" in the series, but thought that "it's a drama after all."

However, despite a blurry memory of her experience filming the drama, the thing that she could remember was how hectic her schedule was.
As obtained by SBS News, Bae Suzy revealed that at some point, she had a hard time juggling her work.
"I got almost no sleep at that time. I pretty much only remember going to a nearby small building to brush my teeth during shooting, and it was freezing," she recalled.
Despite a few bumps on the road and challenges as a rookie actress, Bae Suzy earned an award after starring in "Dream High."
Bae Suzy's Acting Achievements
She took home Best Newcomer Actress and Best Couple Award with Kim Soo Hyun at the KBS Drama Awards 2011 and was also nominated for Excellence Award, Actress in a Miniseries.
From then on, Bae Suzy continue to score achievements in both music and acting, which includes four wins at the Baeksang Arts Awards for Best New Actress (Film) for "Architecture 101, Most Popular Actress (Film) for "The Sound of a Flower," InStyle Fashionista Award and Most Popular Actress (TV) in 2018.
Bae Suzy's New Drama: 'Anna' and 'The Girl Downstairs'
Due to the overwhelming response of the public, Coupang Play has announced that "Anna" will release an extended version.
On top of it, Bae Suzy will also star in an upcoming webtoon-based series "The Girl Downstairs" with Yang Se Jong.
