'If You Wish Upon Me' Stills: Ji Chang Wook Makes Jaws Drop With Character Transformation

South Korean heartthrob Ji Chang Wook is not afraid to try new things when it comes to acting. He is always ready to undergo transformations to make his roles different from the previous ones.

In the newly-released stills provided by KBS for its upcoming K-drama "If You Wish Upon Me," the "Backstreet Rookie" actor displayed his visual transformation which only proves one thing - he is indeed a face genius!

From maintaining his long hair in Netflix's "The Sound of Magic" to cutting his hair short for a new character in "If You Wish Upon Me," Ji Chang Wook's new look is already receiving praises.

In the new drama, he plays the role of Yoon Gyeo Rye, a guy who lives a life without any will or goal. He has lived a problematic life in an orphanage to a detention center and prison. With this, he got the habit of giving himself pain by getting new tattoos.

Ji Chang Wook's Stills Shed Light on His Character

Out of the blue, Gyeo Rye begins volunteering at a hospice hospital and meets "Team Genie," which will give a major turning point in his life.

The still cuts exhibit the contrasting charms of Ji Chang Wook's character through different stylings.

In the first photo, he is seen wearing a worn-out training suit and a stretched tee while carrying a bag.

Different from the first snap, the heartthrob boasts a simple smile while being cautious of his environment. His change of emotions gives curiosity to viewers, raising questions about why his expression suddenly shifted.

In another image, he is wearing an all-black suit. Ji Chang Wook also looks suave when knocking on the top of a car in a parking lot.

Meanwhile, a drama official explained that Ji Chang Wook paid a lot of attention to styling to highlight the circumstances of his character as Yoon Gyeo Rye.

In addition, the "Lovestruck in the City" lead star changes in outfits also showcase a complex yet subtle emotional line that describes Yoon Gyeo Rye's life situation.
