Kim So Hyun is back on K-dramaland after she was selected to headline an upcoming webtoon-based K-drama "Is it a Coincidence?"
In a report cited by Sports Worldli, the 23-year-old actress will star in a rom-com series helmed by "The Beauty Inside" director Song Hyun Wook.

According to the Korean media outlet, a drama official confirmed that the actress will star as the female lead in the webtoon-based series of the same name.
The K-drama "Is it a coincidence?" depicts the story of Hoo Young and her first love, Hong Ju whom she met after 10 years since she was 19 years old. Kim So Hyun took the role of Hoo Young who has become doubtful about love because of her first romance.
Interestingly, the universe conspired after being reunited with her ex-boyfriend Hong Ju. Will the former lovers' reunion be the start of their second take in love?
While the upcoming webtoon-based K-drama is scheduled to be an 8-part miniseries, the report noted that the production is slated to begin filming; however, representatives have yet to announce the cast lineup who will join Kim So Hyun.
From New Agency to Blockbuster K-dramas in 2021
The upcoming K-drama is her follow-up project with the hit Netflix series "Love Alarm 2" with Song Kang and Jung Ga Ram, as well as the historical K-drama "River Where the Moon Rises."
She took the role of Pyeong Gang turned Queen Yeon, who was born as a princess but raised by a soldier.

Kim So Hyun starred alongside Na In Woo, who replaced Ji Soo as the male lead named On Dal.
Her performance in the "River Where the Moon Rises" scored her multiple recognitions at the 2021 KBS Drama Awards.
The 24-year-old star took home the Top Excellence Award together with Park Eun Bin for "The King's Affection" and the Popularity Award for the Female category.
On top of it, Kim So Hyun and Na In Wo bagged the Best Couple Award for their undeniable on-screen chemistry in "River Where the Moon Rises."
Besides her blockbuster K-drama, Kim So Hyun officially signed an exclusive contract with Culture Depot, after leaving her agency E&T Story Entertainment, which has been her label since 2018.
At the time, Kim So Hyun expressed her gratitude for being a part of a new agency and said that she felt "thankful to share the good news with the start of the new year."
With her new agency, the actress promised to "show more improvement in my future projects."
