Go Kyung Pyo talks about his transformation for his upcoming movie "6/45."
Helmed by Park Gyu Tae of "Bunt," the comedy film follows the story of North and South Korean soldiers who harbor a big secret. It came after one of them got a first prize lottery ticket with a whopping amount and landed past Korea's military demarcation line and into North Korea.
Joining Go Kyung Pyo as lead stars are Lee Yi Kyung, Park Se Wan, Eum Moon Suk, Kwak Dong Yeon and more.
In the forthcoming comedy movie, he took the role of sergeant Chun Woo, assigned as South Korea's frontline guard post and the first owner of the lottery ticket. He wanted to claim the cash prize so he could live the life he wanted after his discharge from the military.
Go Kyung Pyo on His Weight Gain in '6/45'
During the "6/45" press conference, Go Kyung Pyo shared his preparation and experience filming the movie.
In an article cited by Xports News, the 32-year-old star introduced his character and hints at his "pure" and "innocent" attitude.
"I wanted to express the innocence of this person. My attitude toward the case and the attitude that I aspire to achieve is pure and clear," he said, adding "That's why I thought he was a person who could act and deal with such incidents."
Moreover, he also pointed out that viewers might notice his slightly different appearance in the middle of the film, saying that he gained a bit of weight while shooting the film.
"So if you watch the movie, you will be able to see that I am gaining weight. I thought it would be good if that image matched Chunwoo."
Besides his weight gain, Go Kyung Pyo recalled his experience in the military and how he can relate to the movie "6/45."

At the media briefing along with other cast members, the actor said that it "hasn't been that long" since he was discharged from the army and is used to doing activities they did while filming.
"I think looking at such trivial details can be a fun factor. I hope a lot of people will empathize with it," he added.
It can be recalled that the actor completed his military service in January 2020 after enlisting in May 2018. Following Go Kyung Pyo's discharge, he updated fans on Instagram with a heartfelt message, thanking everyone for their support.

Interestingly, apart from his new movie "6/45," the actor will also headline an upcoming action adventure movie "Seoul Vibe" with Yoo Ah In.
In addition, he will also make a comeback to the small screen with a rom-com series "MonWedFriTuesThursSat," alongside Park Min Young and Kim Jae Young.
Go Kyung Pyo will also join the cast of "Connect," a thriller-mystery series with Jung Hae In and "Kingdom" actress Kim Hye Joon.
