Ji Chang Woo dishes on his thoughts and experience about his current K-drama "If You Wish Upon Me."
The South Korean heartthrob graced the latest issue of 1st Look magazine showing off his undeniable charisma and breathtaking visuals. As seen on the publication's official Instagram, Ji Chang Wook delivered strong poses, displaying fierce looks as he dons fashionable outfits.
Besides the shoot, the actor also spoke about his current K-drama and his years-long career in the industry.
Ji Chang Wook Admits Getting Emotional in 'If You Wish Upon Me'
As obtained by a news outlet, the 35-year-old actor revealed his first impression in the life drama "If You Wish Upon Me."
"I cried a lot when I first saw the script," he confessed, adding that his character, Yoon Kyeo Re is someone "who barely lives without a will or will for life."
The lead star also referred to his role as someone who uses art to cover up the pain he feels inside.
"It became a habit to inflict pain on herself by tattooing her all over her body. He has a lot of wounds and a pessimistic view of the world," he said.
In KBS2's "If You Wish Upon Me," Ji Chang Wook plays someone who has struggled all his life.
His point of view in life changed when he found himself volunteering at a hospice and found comfort and peace while helping his patients' wishes come true.
Inspired by an organization in the Netherlands that caters to terminal cancer patients, "If You Wish Upon Me" also stars Girls' Generation's Sooyoung as nurse Seo Yeon Joo while Won Ji An plays Han Jun Kyung, who becomes obsessed with Yoon Gyeo Re after having someone helped her for the first time in her life.

In addition, the life drama also stars veteran actor Sung Dong Il as Kang Tae Shik who is the person behind the unit called Team Genie, a dedicated group, granting dying patients their last wishes.
Ji Chang Wook on Preparation for 'If You Wish Upon Me'
As the interview with 1st Look magazine continues, Ji Chang Wook said he focused on his health as his preparation for the drama series.
Unlike his other K-dramas where he needs to undergo months of intense training, the 35-year-old actor "focused on recovering his health while eating really well, sleeping well and exercising."
Moreover, he also shared that his daily life is not as dramatic as his character but likes to go on a trip or exercise as a form of destressing.
"In my daily life, I am very ordinary. Because I don't live with a dramatic narrative like a character in a drama. But when my daily experiences and acting in the work overlap, I am a person too, so I fall deeply into it. I put down my stress and go on a trip or exercise," Ji Chang Wook shared.
Ji Chang Wook Confesses True Feelings About Success
The 35-year-old star is one of the in-demand male leads in his generation. Moreover, he also showed a lot of achievements in both music and acting.
However, he admitted that there came a time when he became "impatient" with success.
"I want to become a wonderful actor with my own distinct color. There were times when I was impatient because I wanted to become a successful actor," he confessed.
But now, the actor realized that he had to take it "step by step" and trust the process.
"If you do that, you will become a good person and ultimately become a good actor," he added.
