tvN shared a sneak peek of Kim Hye Soo's new drama "The Queen's Umbrella."
The broadcast network released the historical drama's first teaser, showing the versatile actress as Queen Im Hwa Ryeong, the wife of the Joseon King.
Kim Hye Soo Portrays the Typical Loving Mother in 'The Queen's Umbrella'
In the first trailer, "The Queen's Umbrella" featured a glimpse of Im Hwa Ryeong as the queen and a loving mother to her son.
Amid the elegance and the power of a royal, the queen illustrates the role of a typical mother who is willing to make sacrifices for her children.
"The Queen's Umbrella" cast also includes Choi Won Young who took the role of Joseon's powerful man, King Lee Ho. He works hard to prove to his countrymen his love for people despite being the son of a concubine.
Joining as one of the main characters is veteran actress Kim Hae Sook as the Queen Dowager, the King's loving mother. Although she loves his son dearly, the Queen Dowager's feelings for his grandchildren are different.

Viewers will also get to see the Queen's five sons Moon Sang Min as Sung Nam, Yoo Seon Ho, who took the role of Gye Sung, Yoon Sang Hyun as Mu Ahn, Kim Min Ki as Bo Gum, and SF9's Chani as Prince Eui Sung.
Adding to the list of "The Queen's Umbrella'' casts are Kim Eui Sung as Hwang Won Hyeong, who will be the King's rival while Kim Ga Eun and Ok Ja Yeon will illustrate tense moments inside the palace.
In a separate report, the drama's producers hint at what to expect in the upcoming historical series.
During the script reading, they mentioned that the cast showed great teamwork.
Moreover, viewers will get to see the chemistry between the veterans and rising stars.
Where to Watch 'The Queen's Umbrella'
Directed by Kim Hyung Shik of "Twenty Again," "About Time" and "Prince Coffee Lab," Kim Hye Soo's new drama is scheduled to premiere in October.
Viewers would get to watch "The Queen's Umbrella" via tvN while subtitles are available through Netflix.
RAIN to Make Special Appearance in 'The Queen's Umbrella'
Apart from the intriguing storyline and star-studded cast, RAIN will also have his cameo in the upcoming historical K-drama.
In August, various media outlets reported that the Hallyu star has been confirmed to have a special appearance in "The Queen's Umbrella."
While the drama officials and network is tight-lipped about his role, the forthcoming series will be RAIN's first-ever appearance in a historical K-drama
Interestingly, this will be his return to the small screen after the hit medical fantasy K-drama "Ghost Doctor" with Kim Bum.
