'Narco-Saints Star Jo Woo Jin Casting Story Revealed
The newest Netflix series "Narco-Saints," which aired earlier this September, enjoys the spotlight in the global entertainment scene, thanks to its compelling storyline.
It tells the story of a businessman who gets involved with the National Intelligence Service (NIS) in taking down a drug lord residing in Suriname.
Ha Jung Woo plays the role of a businessman whilst Hwang Jung Min transforms into a frightening leader of a drug syndicate. Meanwhile, Netflix superstar Park Hae Soo becomes a NIS agent.
The production unit of the show revealed that Park Hae Soo's role was first offered to award-winning actor Jo Woo Jin.
"Narco-Saints" director genuinely thought that the role would fit Jo Woo Jin's overall personality but unfortunately, Jo Woo Jin wanted a different role which is the right hand man of Hwang Jung Min.
Jo Woo Jin almost turned down the work, and even made the production unit insane when he bargained, asking them to give him the role of Byun Ki Tae.

According to the director, Jo Woo Jin told the production unit, "If you give me the role of Byun Ki Tae, I will do my best."
Thankfully, the production team agreed and gave the role to the actor. At the moment, Jo Woo Jin is named as the top contributor to the global box office success of "Narco-Saints."
Jo Woo Jin received critical acclaim for his top notch performance as the game changer, playing a morally gray character.
Jo Woo Jin On Why He Wanted Byun Ki Tae's Acting Role
Because of this unbeatable performance, the public even demands for a spin-off of the Netflix series centered on the life of Byun Ki Tae.
Jo Woo Jin confessed that he's grateful to be offered the cool role of a NIS agent. However, he admitted that he was more drawn towards Byun Ki Tae's character.
"After thoroughly reading the script, I was more attracted to Byun Ki Tae," Jo Woo Jin stated. "A wild beast with infinite charms."
Thanks to his confidence and bargaining, Jo Woo Jin created another best Netflix character. It wouldn't be possible without his efforts and hard work, learning Chinese and improving his body image along the way.
Even during the filming, Jo Woo Jin would come to the set three hours prior to complete his look: beard, special makeup and body tattoos.
