Kim Yoo Jung is making a comeback to the small screen with a new K-drama "Sweet and Sour Chicken."
According to a local media outlet Hankyung, the former child star has confirmed her appearance to join the cast of the webtoon-based series.

Helmed by Lee Byeong Heon who is also the screenwriter and director of "Be Melodramatic" and Park Seo Joon and IU's upcoming movie "Dream," the upcoming K-drama "Sweet and Sour Chicken" is based on the webtoon "Fried Chicken" by Park Ji Dok.
It follows the story of Choi Min Ah, a young beautiful girl who mysteriously turned into a fried chicken, a bizarre machine.
In hopes of returning her to her normal state, her father and their intern join efforts to turn her back but unexpectedly discover a dark secret.
According to the outlet, Kim Yoo Jung plays Choi Min Ah, the daughter of "All Machines" president played by Ryu Seung Ryong in the hit movie "Miracle in Cell No. 7."
Interestingly, this is his reunion project with Lee Byeong Heon who also directed the 2019 movie "Extreme Job" where Ryu Seung Ryong stars as Detective Squad Chief Go Sang Gi.
Apart from the renowned actor, the "Sweet and Sour Chicken" cast also includes ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo and "Time to Hunt" star Ahn Jae Hong as among the main characters.

Following the update regarding the cast lineup, the upcoming romance fantasy K-drama is reportedly starting its production in November.

Best known for her role as one of K-drama's child stars, Kim Yoo Jung grew up to be one of Hallyu's sought-after leading ladies with notable series under her name.
It includes "Love in the Moonlight" with Park Bo Gum followed by another successful K-drama "Clean with Passion for Now" with Yoon Kyung Sang.
In addition, Kim Yoo Jung also headlined the rom-com K-drama "Backstreet Rookie" opposite Ji Chang Wook and her last K-drama appearance was with Ahn Hyo Seop for the historical fantasy series "Lovers of the Red Sky."
Interestingly, she returned to the small screen, entertaining viewers with her quirks and charm alongside "Love in the Moonlight" co-stars.
Kim Yoo Jung joins Park Bo Gum, Jung Jinyoung, Chae Soo Bin, and Kwak Dong Yeon as they complete the team for the TVING variety show "Youth MT."
Apart from the "Love in the Moonlight" team, the show also includes the "Itaewon Class" team featuring Park Seo Joon, Kwon Nara, Ahn Bo Hyun, Ryu Kyung Soo, and Lee Joo Young.
Lastly, Ji Chang Wook led the team of "The Sound of Magic" with Choi Sung Eun, Hwang In Yeop, Ji Hye Won, and Kim Bo Yoon.
