IU To Headline 'You Have Done Well' With Park Bo Gum

After further discussions, it is already confirmed that IU and Park Bo Gum will make their long-awaited acting comeback this 2023.

According to a report on January 27, Pan Entertainment, the production company to handle the series-announced that IU and Park Bo Gum will officially headline the forthcoming drama "You Have Done Well" (literal title) also known as "Thank You For Your Hard Work."

Based on the released synopsis, the soon-to-release series features the life stories of Ae Soon and Gwan Shik who was born on the island of Jeju in the 1950s.

What To Anticipate From IU and Park Bo Gum's Characters

Lee Ji Eun, popularly known as IU takes the role of Ae Soon, a rebellious but gets anxious every time she rebels. She is not from a well-off clan but is always full of positivity in life. Although Ae Soon doesn't have a chance to attend school, she dreams of becoming a poet someday. She will possess a bold character who is always true in showing her emotions.

Opposite her is Park Bo Gum, to portray Gwan Shik-a smart and quiet guy. Romance is not his priority in life. However, he doesn't know how to express himself every time Ae Soon cries or laughs.

The drama will be helmed by director Kim Won Seok, who was also the creative mind behind the series; "My Mister," "Signal," and "Misaeng." He is expected to team up with "Fight for My Way" and "When the Camellia Blooms" writer Im Sang Choon for "You Have Done Well."

'You Have Done Well' Production Team Aim To Start Filming in First Half of 2023

In addition, the drama production is scheduled to start filming in the first half of 2023.

"You Have Done Well" signals IU's first drama return following her series "Hotel Del Luna" in 2019. It will be her second time collaborating with Kim Won Seok, whom she worked with on "My Mister."

On the other hand, this is also Park Bo Gum's first small screen comeback after he returned from mandatory military service. His latest drama was in 2020 with "Record of Youth."
