In 2021, the "Hospital Playlist" star made headlines after capturing the hearts of netizens as he spreads good influence by revealing the procedure of adopting a rescue dog.
To encourage more people to adopt dogs, he visited the animal shelter "The Bom Center" to help abandoned dogs.
On Yoo Yeon Seok's YouTube video, Rita was among stray animals who experienced abuse and as a result, she also suffered from serious skin diseases.
Thankfully, through the animal organization, Kara, Rita was able to escape and is now with the South Korean star.

Meanwhile, ahead of his movie "My Heart Puppy" the actor recalled a heartwarming story about his dog.
Yo Yeon Seok Reveals Changes After Getting Rita
During his guest appearance in KBS 2TV's 'Year - Round Plus" along with co-star Cha Tae Hyun, the 38-year-old actor spoke about Rita whom he met at a shelter in 2021.
For Yoo Yeon Seok, he shared that he has been interested in taking care of stray dogs, but Rita is the one who caught his attention.
Interestingly, he is set to headline the upcoming thriller psychological series "A Very Lucky Day" along with veteran stars Lee Sung Min and Lee Jung Eun.
As for his movie, Yoo Yeon Seok soon to be released film "My Heart Puppy" is set to hit the big screen on March 1 with viewers witnessing his team-up with Cha Tae Hyun.
