Lee Je Hoon's "Taxi Driver 2" is gaining attention from viewers as the sequel returns with familiar faces and new cast members. However, some fans express how they miss seeing Esom along with the Rainbow Taxi team, causing dismay for failing to join the second season.
The SBS series returns with the beloved anti-hero Kim Do Gi as the group sets out on missions to avenge the victims that the law couldn't protect.
After getting much love from viewers in 2021, Lee Je Hoon is back with a bolder and feistier season 2.
Unfortunately, one cast member failed to join the much-awaited season.
Viewers Saddened At Esom's Absense in 'Taxi Driver 2'
As mentioned in a news portal, viewers are saddened that Esom, with the character Prosecutor Kang Ha Na, is not included in season 2.
To recall, her character played a significant role in Season 1 since she was after Kim Do Ki's team. In fact, Season 1 finale featured Kang Ha Na at the Rainbow Taxi team's hideout, hinting that she has decided to join the group.
Viewers were also delighted at the chemistry between Lee Je Hoon and Esom as the drama highlighted Kang Ha Na's love-hate relationship with Kim Do Gi.
Why Esom Did Not Join 'Taxi Driver 2'
After "Taxi Driver 2" officially gets the green light, outlets mentioned that Esom would not join the series. With this, her agency Artist Company explained that the actress couldn't make it due to a conflict in her schedule.
"Her casting was discussed, but it is difficult for her to star in the new season due to scheduling issues," a representative from the agency shared.
At the time, the actress was gearing for a slew of upcoming projects, which include the webcomic-based K-drama "Black Knight" along with Kim Woo Bin, Song Seung Heon, and Kang Yoo Seok.
