Yun Sung Bin Reveals Not Receiving 'Appearance Fee' From Netflix's 'Physical: 100'
However, Netflix clarified Yun Sung Bin's statement regarding the lack of an appearance fee for the show's 100 contestants.
In a report, an official from Netflix tells Hallyu Times that they "paid all the appearance fees to all participants."
Moreover, the representative said that the compensation was given to the contestant's respective agencies, adding that there might have been a "misunderstanding elsewhere."
The statement was seconded by Yun Sung Bin's agency, All That Sports, saying that the athlete knew he has his "own appearance fee."
"It's not that there was no fee for 'Physical: 100'. Since it is an entertainment program, it was adapted in an interesting way," the agency said, adding "Yun Sung Bin also knows that he has his own appearance fee."
In addition, the label also pointed out that there was "no problem with the company at all" referring to Netflix.
As mentioned, Yun Sung Bin is among the top contestants on the show but failed to join the final match after he lost to professional cyclist Jung Hae Min during the "Physical: 100" quest 4, game 5, known as the "Punishment of Sisyphus."
The contestants need to push a 100 kg boulder up and down the hill until only one person remained.
It was Jung Hae Min who advanced to the final round but it was snowboarder Woo Jin Yong who survived the final match and won 300 million KRW or, about 231,072 USD.
