Lee Jae Wook Offered to Lead 'Tangeum' Alongside Jo Bo Ah

According to a report on April 19, Lee Jae Wook is being courted to play the main protagonist of the new series "Tangeum" (working title). In response to the news, his agency C-Jes confirmed that the actor received an offer to lead the novel-based series and is currently reviewing it.

Mystery-romance series "Tangeum" is based on a novel of the same name. It is set in the background of the upper part of the Joseon Dynasty, and features a man who returns after missing for years with secrets and a half-sister who pursues the truth.

If Lee Jae Wook accepts the project he will immerse himself in the character of Hong Rang, a guy who disappeared at the young age of eight, and suddenly returns after more than a decade.

Jo Bo Ah Might Join Lee Jae Wook in Novel-Based Drama 'Tangeum'

Apart from the actor, it has been said that "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" actress Jo Bo Ah also received an offer to star in the drama. She is in talks to portray the role of Jae Yi, the half-sister of Hong Rang, who protected him with everything before she lost him when they were young.

Though there is no confirmation yet for both stars, people are already looking forward to seeing them on screen.

Meanwhile, "Tangeum" will have a total of 16 episodes. The director of "Voice" and "Money Heist Korea," Kim Hong Sun, will helm the project, while "Dr. Brain" writer Kim Jin Ah is in charge of the script.

Lee Jae Wook Lauded For Previous Projects

Lee Jae Wook led two seasons of tvN's "Alchemy of Souls," which ended in January of this year. After receiving soaring reviews for his performance in the fantasy-romance drama, he made a special appearance in the box-office hit "Kill Bok Soon."

Expectations are high on what kind of acting Lee Jae Wook will showcase in his next work.
