Moreover, the actor said that he would "respect the court's decision."
Court Dismisses Yoo Ah In's Warrant of Arrest
After hours of waiting, the court has released its decision regarding the police request for an arrest warrant.
As mentioned in a report, the court dismissed the request filed by the police, noting that a warrant of arrest was "unnecessary."
"It is difficult to conclude that there are fears of [Yoo] fleeing or destroying evidence beyond his self-defense rights. It is also hard to justify the reasons and the need for an arrest," the court said, as noted by a media outlet.
In addition, the court pointed out that the actor admitted most of the charges against him, which include using illegal drugs. As for the claim of the police regarding tampering with or destroying the evidence, the court said that "evidence had been collected," so an arrest warrant was not needed.
To recall, Yoo Ah In admitted to part of the accusations against him but denied that he tried to help his accomplice, who is a writer and a close friend, leave the country.
Because of this, it led the police to seek an arrest warrant, as well as when Yoo Ah In dodged the second private summon twice.
