Lee Byung Hun and Park Seo Joon's movie "Concrete Utopia" will represent South Korea in upcoming two major film festivals. Ahead of the much-awaited release, the star-studded film had been invited to the Sitges Film Festival and the Hawaii Film Festival.
'Concrete Utopia' Invited to Sitges Film Festival, Hawaii Film Festival
According to a media outlet, Lotte Entertainment confirmed that the apocalyptic-thriller movie will participate in the Orbita section of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival 2023.
Before the earthquake, Min Sung worked as an ordinary employee; however, after the calamity struck the city, he became the right-hand man of Young Tak.
Meanwhile, his wife, Myung Hwa, is a nurse who uses her expertise to help her neighbors.
Besides the trio, "Concrete Utopia" stars also include Kim Sun Young, "All of Us Are Dead" star Park Ji Hu, and more.
Set to hit local theaters on August 9, the upcoming disaster movie will also screen in various countries.
According to Screen Rant, Lotte Entertainment has pre-sold "Concrete Utopia" to 152 countries. With this, fans from France, Italy, Poland, and selected Asian countries will get to see the star-studded film.
During the press conference, "Concrete Utopia" director Um Tae Hwa, who also helmed Kang Dong Won's "Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned," hints at what to expect in the upcoming film.
He said that the movie is not the typical film about the "aftermath of a disaster, but shows different sides of human instincts when put in an extreme situation."
