Park So Yi dishes on her closeness with senior actor Kang Dong Won as the duo starred in the soon-to-be-released movie "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman."
During the press conference ahead of the movie's premiere, the cast and director talk about their experience filming the movie.
Park So Yi Talks About Working Relationship With 'Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman' Co-Stars
For Park So Yi, she shared her working relationship with senior stars, among which is Kang Dong Won, who plays the main lead in "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman."
As mentioned by a media outlet, the child star says that he calls the actor "uncle" a lot.
Uncle Kang Dong-won kept smiling at me," she says, hinting about her closeness with fellow actors. The same goes for Lee Dong Hwi, whom Park So Yi calls "uncle."
"Uncle Lee Dong Hwi listened to me well, even though he might have had a hard time because I talked a lot," she said.
Meanwhile, Park So Yi says her encounter with Esom was "awkward at first," but she discovered that her likes "matched well."
Expressing her affection for other actors, the child star says that she finds veteran actor Heo Joon Ho scary at first because of his makeup on set, but shares that he "turned out to be very kind and friendly."
Besides her new movie, the child star is known for her characters in notable K-dramas like "Law School," "High Class," and "Mounstrous."
Interestingly, Park So Yi is part of the cast of the recently concluded K-drama "See You in My 19th Life" as the young Shin Ye Sun.
Throughout her career, she managed to bring home two child star trophies, which include the "Golden Cinematography Awards" in 2021 and the "Seoul International Children's Film Festival" in 2022.
'Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman's Release Date and Cast
Directed by Kim Sung Sik, "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman" is based on the 2014 webcomic titled "Possession."
It follows the story of a fake exorcist named Dr. Cheon, played by Kang Dong Won, who can't see or hear ghosts but tries to solve it through his ghostly insight. Meanwhile, he unexpectedly met a client who has the ability to see ghosts.
Besides the interesting plot, "Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman" will surely entertain viewers with its heavy special effects, showcasing a big spiritual showdown.
Joining Kang Dong Won are Heo Joon Ho, Lee Dong Hwi, Esom, Park So Yi, and Kim Jong Soo.
Interestingly, director Kim Sung Sik revealed in the press conference that BLACKPINK's Jisoo will play a cameo in the soon-to-be released movie, sparking excitement among fans.
"While looking for an actor who would fit the image of the fairy, I came to think of Jisoo after watching her in 'Snowdrop,'" the director said, as obtained by a media outlet.
Meanwhile, viewers will get to see "Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman" as it premieres on the big screen this September 27.
