Bae Suzy recalled the beginning of her career as she talked about her latest K-drama, "Doona."

In her interview with a news outlet, the actress mentioned her former girl group, Miss A, under JYP Entertainment, which debuted in 2010. The then-15-year-old Suzy was joined by three other members: Fei, Jia, and Min.

She eventually left the group to focus on her acting career, and now she is among the sought-after stars of her generation.

Speaking of her transition from singer to actress, Bae Suzy has managed to make a name for herself and has a slew of notable K-dramas and movies under her belt - the most recent is the Netflix series "Doona."

Why Bae Suzy Said Yes to 'Doona'

In an interview, Bae Suzy revealed what prompted her to accept the offer for Netflix's "Doona."

Bae Suzy mentioned that Lee Doona's situation "touched" her a lot since she could also relate to her stories because of their same career path.

"As an idol, I sympathized with and felt sorry for her hardships, loneliness, and wounds. I, too, have been through similar situations."

In addition, the actress also shared that she could totally picture herself as Lee Doona and understood her emotional ups and downs.

Furthermore, Bae Suzy also mentioned negative comments that celebrities receive and how they affect them.

"The scene where a man misunderstands and is startled by the sound of a cell phone capturing something was similar to reality, so I sympathized with it. That's why I wanted to express Doona's wariness well."

What's Next for Bae Suzy?

After debuting at the age of 15, Bae Suzy was introduced as a K-pop idol and had her first K-drama through the music teen series "Dream High," along with IU, Kim Soo Hyun, Ok Taec Yeon, and more.

The youth-oriented drama propelled her to stardom and managed to land several hit K-dramas, including "Uncontrollably Fond," "Vagabond," and "Start-Up."

After "Doona," she is set to headline the rom-com fantasy series "Everything Will Come True," which will air in 2024. In this project, she will be reunited with "Uncontrollably Fond" co-star Kim Woo Bin.
