Following the revenge series "The Escape of the Seven," "My Demon" received unwavering hype from the crowd as it excites the fans and viewers to finally see brilliant stars Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang in one frame.

The fantasy-romance drama features the story of a devilish chaebol heiress Do Do Hee who is involved in a contractual marriage with the demon, Jung Gu Won, who temporarily loses his powers.

In particular, "The Escape of the Seven" marked the reunion project of genius writer Kim Sook Ok and director Joo Dong Min after the record-breaking series "Penthouse" which is why it already drew attention from the production stage.

Unfortunately, due to consistent controversies being thrown over its provocative material, the drama began with an impressive rating of 6.6 percent and fell to 5.6 percent in the fifth episode. Its finale episode received a disappointing result of 6.6 percent.

Will Kim Yoo Jung & Song Kang Be Able to Make Breakthrough in 'My Demon'?

As such, viewers also raised their expectations for the follow-up series "My Demon" with the collaboration of visual stars Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang to help SBS reclaim the honor of Friday and Saturday dramas.

However, "My Demon" is receiving low ratings. During episode 1, it garnered 4.5 percent and immediately dropped to 3.4 percent in episode 2 and fell behind its rival series "The Story of Park's Marriage Contract" featuring Lee Se Young and Bae In Hyuk.

In the first half of 2023, SBS' "The First Responders" was outshined by MBC's "My Dearest" Part 1. Then "The Escape of the Seven" also failed to record high ratings against "My Dearest" Part 2.

Since "My Demon" has just begun its journey on primetime, fans and viewers are still hoping that Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung will make a major shift, a breakthrough with better performances in the upcoming episodes of the rom-com series to recover the sluggish ratings.

Now that the drama is in its third week, the viewers are getting excited about the narrative's progress, and more slow-burn romance scenes are about to appear for Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung.

Catch "My Demon" every Friday and Saturday on SBS at 10 p.m. (KST). It is also available globally through the online streaming platform Netflix.
