Gallup Korea Names K-Drama Stars Who Enter Top Talent Ranking This 2023
Based on the survey conducted by Gallup Korea from November 2 to December 4, these K-drama stars are voted as the top talents who were active and amassed popularity this 2023.
The people who participated in voting are 1,769 in total, beginning age 13 and up.
Song Hye Kyo Ranks 3rd for Her Portrayal in Netflix's 'The Glory'
Taking third place is none other than award-winning actress Song Hye Kyo. This 2023, through Netflix's "The Glory," she introduced the cold and fierce Moon Dong Eun, who seeks revenge on high school violence perpetrators.
The thrilling revenge plot complemented well with the actress' first-ever 19+ acting, and gained significant popularity in and outside South Korea. She received 6.3% votes from the participants.
Park Eun Bin Occupies Second Spot for This Year's Gallup Korea Survey
Making a huge step since 2022 and successfully occupying the second spot is actress Park Eun Bin. After showcasing her impressive acting skills in the ENA's series "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," the breakout star reunited with the viewers this year through the tvN drama "Castaway Diva" where she played the role of the female lead Seo Mok Ha.
Different from her previous work, Park Eun Bin showcased her amazing singing voice and sang various songs in the series, which once again earned admiration from the crowd.
She accumulated 6.4% votes from the conducted activity. Park Eun Bin has been consistently active since she debuted in 1996. From stepping out of her calm image in "Hello, My Twenties!" to her cross-dressing acting in "The King's Affection," the actress proved her versatility and even earned nominations from different prestigious award shows.
Namgoong Min Hailed as Top Talent in 2023
Lastly, the Korean actor who made it to the top is K-series leading man, Namgoong Min. According to Gallup Korea, the actor who headlined MBC's "My Dearest," took first place with 20.2 percent votes.
His drama "My Dearest," which premiered in two parts received immense popularity in Korea. Part 1 aired in August-September, and Part 2 aired in October-November. According to the source, it ranked first in the Gallup Korea preferred broadcast video program list, especially receiving an enthusiastic response from women.
Namgoong Min never fails to prove his star power every year through his projects and unique characters. He always bagged the grand prize at the year-end drama awards. This 2023, he is also a strong candidate to win the Daesang for his series "My Dearest."
