On December 22, the production shared a glimpse of the actor's soon-to-debut character, Jung Jin Man, a mysterious uncle and an owner of a sinister shopping mall, marking an absolute shift in his acting career.

The thriller series "A Shop for Killers" features the survival story of Ji An (Kim Hye Jun), who becomes the target of killers after her uncle inherits a dangerous legacy. Lee Dong Wook is about to immerse in Jung Jin Man's character. He is the only family member and the mysterious owner of the peculiar shopping mall.
Giving a little background of his new role, Jung Jin Man's characteristics move from a lazy uncle lying around or gazing at his niece with an unbothered expression, to a man with a piercing aura.
Through the released stills, the actor already pulled off an intense gun action, fueling intrigue about Jin Man's back story and showcasing Lee Dong Wook's versatile charm.
Lee Dong Wook Gives Details of His Role Jung Jin Man
Regarding his role, Lee Dong Wook said, "It is a character that I hadn't portrayed before and it also intrigued me. Jin Man will definitely spark curiosity among the viewers about what in the world he's thinking."
He further explained Jin Man's relationship with his niece Ji An, spoiling their special bond.
"To Jin Man, Ji An is special. She's his only remaining family. He believes he must toughen her up, which is why he comes off as quite abrupt."
In addition, the heartthrob shared his experience working on the action scenes, "While my past works often involved fantasy, this one has more realistic and practical action scenes, which I found refreshing and enjoyable."
"A Shop for Killers" is a drama adaptation of Kang Ji Young's novel and can be streamed on Disney Plus beginning January 17, 2024.
