In an interview, Kim Ji Hoon dished out his honest feelings about his role, and also revealed his casting regrets in the drama. Keep on reading to know more.

Kim Ji Hoon Dishes His Regrets About 'Death's Game' Role

Kim Ji Hoon enjoyed back-to-back success in the past year after dominating prime time with his excellence as an actor.

From "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" to "Ballerina" and most recently, "Death's Game," the actor cemented himself as a top-notch star in the industry.

In "Death's Game," he transformed into a psychopathic chaebol who is among the villains in Seo In Guk's story. Kim Ji Hoon felt nothing but gratitude to the viewers.

However, he has a little regret about the casting. According to him, he wanted to play Seo In Guk's character the most.

"After reading the script, I really wanted to play Seo In Guk's role as the main character," Kim Ji Hoon shared. "It's a shame [that I didn't get the part]."

It's revealed that he was unable to bag the role due to his age as he's 10 years older than the character. He added, "He's in his late 20s, a representative of youth. I'm now in my 40s."

Kim Ji Hoon complimented Seo In Guk's portrayal of the character although he still believes that he can also create a different interpretation of the character, especially with his experiences and struggles in life.

Despite all that, his character as a villain was well-received by the public, even making thousands of viewers swoon over his unfading visuals and brooding charisma.

'Death's Game' Continues To Enjoy Worldwide Success

Even after weeks, Seo In Guk and Park So Dam's "Death's Game" still remains as one of the best works in the market so far.

It's also among the most streamed work across all streaming platforms, ranking No. 1 in more than 30 countries including South Korea, the Philippines, Brazil, Singapore and more.

The show continues to rake high praises from viewers, earning titles like "Best 2024 K-drama," thanks to its jam-packed entertainment.

"Death's Game" offers a wide set of genres from action, thriller, and even comical and romance. With that said, viewers dubbed the work as a "perfectly balanced feast."

It also boasts an impressive cast lineup including Lee Do Hyun, Kim Ji Hoon, Choi Siwon, Oh Jung Se, Jang Seung Jo and more.
