Lee Gi Kwang's Portrayal in 'Marry My Husband' Sparks Disappointment

In the webtoon-based series "Marry My Husband," Baek Eun Ho is Kang Ji Won's (Park Min Young) childhood crush, who attends the same school as her.

One of the episodes featured Eun Ho's revelation about his true feelings for Ji Won, but he confessed that he stopped talking to her because of a misunderstanding orchestrated by Kang Ji Won's best friend, Jung Soo Min (Song Ha Yoon).

Moreso, the drama depicted him as someone who grew up in Gyeongsang-do because of his accent.

Unfortunately, viewers are unimpressed with how Lee Gi Kwang portrayed his role, especially his take on the dialect.

Lee Gi Kwang Slammed for Poor Acting in 'Marry My Husband'

The actor received mixed reviews for his portrayal of Baek Eun Ho in "Marry My Husband."

Sadly, most of it is criticizing his accent and acting skills.

Others pointed out that Lee Gi Kwang should also focus on his delivery, while others seemed confused because he was "mixing Daegu and Busan accents."

Unfortunately, others were straight to the point and said that the acting was "seriously bad," to the point that it was "disappointing."

Before starring in "Marry My Husband," Lee Gi Kwang was a singer-songwriter and member of the group "Highlight.".

He made his debut in 2009 after joining the cast of "High Kick Through the Roof."

Interestingly, "Marry My Husband" is his first series since returning to civilian life in 2020.

As for his upcoming work, Lee Gi Kwang is offered to headline the action drama series "I Kill You" together with Kang Ji Young.

Meanwhile, the webtoob-based K-drama "Marry My Husband" continues to achieve new milestones as the series enters its second half.

Despite issues and controversies, the tvN series sustains a high viewership rating.

Airing every Monday and Tuesday, the 16-episode K-drama focuses on Kang Ji Won's revenge after she was cheated on by her husband and best friend.

As she gets to live her second life, Kang Ji Won makes sure that Park Min Hwan and Jung Soo Min experience the pain she felt because of their betrayal.

Interestingly, this is with the help of her boss, Yoo Ji Hyuk, played by Na In Woo.

Viewers get to watch the latest episode of "Marry My Husband" via tvN while international fans could catch it through Prime Video and TVING.
