Ahn Bo Hyun recalls his grandmother's reaction after seeing his team-up with Kim Go Eun in "Yumi's Cells."
Ahn Bo Hyun's Grandmother Thought His Scenes in 'Yumi's Cells' Were Real-Here's Why
During the actor's guest appearance in SBS's "My Little Old Boy," the actor talked about his current series "Flex X Cop" and his previous works, which include the webtoon-based K-drama.
Sharing his relationship with his grandmother, Ahn Bo Hyun said that she serves as his inspiration and that he considers her his "driving force."
In addition, the actor shared that his grandmother watched all of his K-dramas and movies.
However, one of his projects struck her the most, which was "Yumi's Cells."
The particular scene that piqued her interest was Ahn Bo Hyun's love scene with co-star Kim Go Eun.
As mentioned by a media outlet, Ahn Bo Hyun's grandmother thought that it was real, which prompted her to ask hilarious questions.
"She even commented, 'That friend (Kim Go Eun) is so good.' It seems like she thought it was real. She even asked me questions like, 'Does she like sashimi?' or 'Will you bring her to Busan?'l
As for intimate scenes like this in K-drama, Ahn Bo Hyun considered this an essential part of the story.
While these scenes are inevitable in various genres like action, rom-coms, and fantasy, the actor said that he put in a lot of effort to look good in front of the camera regardless of the screen time.
"There weren't any exposure scenes in the first place, but they suddenly wanted to add them and said they would use 10 seconds. So I worked out for 3 weeks just for those 10 seconds."
In the 2021 K-drama, Ahn Bo Hyun played as Kim Go Eun's boyfriend, Goo Woong. He owns a start-up design company along with his friends, and is depicted in the story as someone who is timid about expressing his feelings.
Goo Woong met Yumi (Kim Go Eun) after her painful breakup with her ex-boyfriend. However, their relationship didn't last long because of their work schedules.
Interestingly, Ahn Bo Hyun managed to reprise his role in season 2, but in the second season, he played as Yumi's ex-boyfriend, who was still hung up on her.
Unfortunately, Yumi was in a relationship with Yoo Babi, played by Park Jin Young.
Ahn Bi Hyun's Current, Upcoming Dramas
As mentioned, he is currently headlining the series "Flex X Cop" together with Park Ji Hyun, who is also his co-star in "Yumi's Cells."
Adding to the list of his upcoming K-dramas is the webtoon-based historical series "Haesi's Shinru." He replaced Kim Seon Ho as the lead star and is set to portray the role of Crown Prince Lee Hyang.
