The drama released its latest episode, which received great reception and high praises from viewers, thanks to the intense two-shot scenes between Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung.
"Captivating the King" episode 6, which aired on February 4, received a high score of 5.5%, ranking first among weekend dramas across all cable channels.
The series took a 1.7% leap from the previous episode the night before. In addition to that, it also peaked at 7.9% nationwide, proving its skyrocketing popularity and success.
With this, the production unit of the drama expects "Captivating the King" to continue receiving an all-time high streak as it progresses especially now that it's set to enter the second half.
'Captivating the King' Episode 6 Recap
In episode 6, Shin Se Kyung's Kang Hee Soo returned to Joseon as Kang Mong Woo to avenge herself from the king himself.
She tries to become the king's Go playmate and slowly creep into his world, and finally take him down from his dictatorial reign.
However, Lee In, played by Jo Jung Suk, has uncovered her plans, shaking her core. With this, Kang Hee Soo tries to recruit Lee Shin Young's Kim Myung Ha to her plans.
Unbeknownst to them, Lee In has seen the two embracing one another, igniting the fiery pit of jealousy, hinting at the love triangle between them.
'Captivating the King' To Release 4 Episodes Simultaneously
The fourth week of broadcast of Jo Jung Suk and Shin Se Kyung's "Captivating the King" coincides with the Lunar New Year this 2024.
However, fans shouldn't worry as the production unit has a special surprise. According to tvN, "Captivating the King" will release four episodes this weekend.
Originally released on Saturday and Sunday, episode 7 will be broadcast on Friday, February 9 at 9:20 p.m. KST. Episode 8 will air on Saturday in the same time slot.
Meanwhile, episodes 9 and 10 will be broadcasted consecutively on Sunday, February 11 on tvN and Netflix so don't miss it.
