Despite giving excitement to fans for potentially headlining new works, these K-stars - Lee Jong Suk, Ji Chang Wook, and more! - shocked many by declining drama offers for various reasons.
Lee Jong Suk
In November 2023, media insiders announced that Lee Jong Suk was offered to join Go Min Si in the romance series "I'm Against My Romance," which is an upcoming work of Director Lee Eung Bok, the brilliant mind behind the smashing hit dramas "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" (Goblin), "Descendants of the Sun," "Sweet Home," "Mr. Sunshine" and "Jirisan."
The series depicts the reunion of a former couple entangled whether their unexpected meet-up is a continuation of their relationship or the start of an unknown relationship.

Unfortunately, in December 2023, Studio Dragon confirmed that the actor decided not to appear in the series due to scheduling conflicts.
Ji Chang Wook
Ji Chang Wook is indeed one of the busiest actors today.
On January 9, the "Welcome to Samdalri" star was reported to play the protagonist in the Korean adaptation of the French thriller series "La Mante."
However, on the same day, Ji Chang Wook's agency, Spring Company, released a statement clarifying the news. While it was true that the actor received an offer to headline the drama, Ji Chang Wook declined the project due to scheduling conflicts.
Had he accepted, he would've worked with "Mask Girl" actress Go Hyun Jung.
Cha Eun Woo
In March 2023, fans rejoiced upon knowing that Cha Eun Woo was considering to star in the thriller-action drama "Bulk," alongside Ha Yoon Kyung and Jo Woo Jin.
But just a few days after he was announced to possibly join the cast, the actor shocked many as he decided not to appear in the series anymore.
This news was confirmed by his agency, saying, "We were in discussions about his appearance in 'Bulk,' but ultimately decided not to have Cha Eun Woo star in the series."
It remains unclear why the ASTRO member refused to do the project.
Lee Do Hyun
"The Glory" star was courted to lead the Netflix series "Bloodhounds" in 2021, along with "Vincenzo" actor Kwak Dong Yeon. Lee Do Hyun was supposed to play the role of Kim Gun Woo.
However, after being selected to play the main protagonists, the duo turned down the offer due to various problems with the production team. Due to this, they were replaced by Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi.
On the other hand, despite turning down the project, Lee Do Hyun's popularity skyrocketed after landing a lead role in Netflix's hit drama "The Glory," alongside Hallyu superstar Song Hye Kyo.
