On February 9, Ahn Jae Hong sat down with Dispatch to talk about his career plans as an actor. He also took his time to clarify the rumors circulating online about his retirement from the entertainment scene.
Earlier this year, he returned to prime time with "LTNS (Long Time No Sex)" with Esom, which tells the story of a couple who become business partners in taking money from blackmailing unfaithful spouses inside the hotel they work at.
In the drama, the actor gave a stunning performance with high caliber dialogues, raising the standards to a new level. Many fans lauded him for an acting that no other actor could easily do.
Because of the raunchy theme of the work, viewers believe that it's the beginning of his "retirement" plan. To recall, he also took on a "miserably broken" character in the 2023 Netflix series "Mask Girl."
Many think that it's the actor's way of "silently quitting" the entertainment scene. In an interview with Dispatch, Ahn Jae Hong debunked the rumors of his retirement.
He reasoned, "It's not that I care less about my roles. I want to curate my filmography with interesting works and characters that have extreme emotions like contempt, excitement and anger."
Ahn Jae Hong described his role as a "refreshing experience," thanks to the creative freedom that he received in curating his character. He added, "Representation of reality is my goal."
Ahn Jae Hong Shares Affection For Acting Profession
According to Ahn Jae Hong, he is passionate in all the things that he does, including acting. With this, he strives hard to showcase very diverse yet realistic performances.
He hinted that he plans to widen his filmography even more, saying, "The thrilling feeling when I come off the screen is what makes me love my job even more. I want to create more moments like this."
"I promise to return with greater works, and give my all that viewers will wonder if it's going to be my last acting project," Ahn Jae Hong concluded.
