WJSN Bona, Shin Seul Ki, More Play Dangerous 'Pyramid Game'
On February 21, TVING shared a set of character stills from its forthcoming thriller series "Pyramid Game."
The show follows the story of students at an all-girls high school who go through a popularity vote in order to avoid being the target of school violence.
WJSN Bona leads the production as Song Su Ji, a transferee who becomes the catalyst for change as she stops at nothing to break the problematic system of the administration.
While she becomes the face of rebellion, Ryu Da In joins the cast as Myung Ja Eun, a F-graded student who refuses to participate in the pyramid game.
Jang Da Ah takes on the role of popular student Baek Ha Rin and Shin Seul Ki portrays the moderator of the game as well as the top-ranked student Seo Do Ah.
Lastly, Kang Na Eon plays idol trainee Im Ye Rim and Ha Yul Ri completes the cast as Bang Woo Yi, a student who looks up to Baek Ha Rin.
The stills depict a discussion between Song Su Ji, Baek Ha Rin, Myung Ja Eun, Seo Do Ah and Im Ye Rim in the pyramid game, which is played once a month in their school.
Although it's called a "game," it's actually psychological warfare as they try to get higher rankings in order to be safe from school violence.
Song Su Ji and Myung Ja Eun display wearisome expressions as they are in danger of getting an F while Baek Ha Rin, who's always at the top, dons a relaxed demeanor.
Meanwhile, Seo Do Ah, who's also at the top, observes her fellow students with an unreadable expression, raising tension and curiosity about the work.
With this, attention is focused on the upcoming drama. Fans are curious as to how Song Su Ji eliminates the system as a transferee, and how she secures herself from impending doom.
Here's Why You Should Watch 'Pyramid Game'
Apart from the meeting of fresh faces in Hallyu, a promising premise that discusses bullying, violence, redemption and friendship is also a main point in watching the show.
"Pyramid Game" isn't only an entertaining show but also an eye-opener of what goes on inside campuses that have a problematic administrative system.
Meanwhile, the webtoon of the same name which was serialized in 2021 now has 15 million views and 10 star rating, doubling the anticipation and pressure for the dramatized show.
