As fans wait for the highly-anticipated comeback of the K-drama heartthrob, the streaming giant teased the public with exciting news.
Gong Yoo & Seo Hyun Jin's Drama 'The Trunk' Concludes Filming
In an exclusive report by Ten Asia, "The Trunk" has officially wrapped up its filming. Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin's drama has concluded six months of production, marking its last day on February 28.
To celebrate their milestone, the team behind "The Trunk" will hold a wrap-up party in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, which will be attended by cast and staff members who worked together to create the project.
To recall, after Netflix announced the cast lineup for the upcoming series, "The Trunk" began filming at the end of August 2023 and successfully finished a six-month long journey of production.
Helmed by Director Kim Gyu Tae ("Our Blues," "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," "It's Okay, That's Love," and "Live"), the new K-drama was penned by screenwriter Park Eun Young ("Hwarang").
What to Expect in 'The Trunk' + Netflix Shows To Anticipate This 2024
As we enter a new year, Netflix Korea has unveiled the list of K-dramas, movies, and reality shows that will be premiering in 2024.
From sequels like "Squid Game" Season 2 to "Sweet Home" Season 3 to original series and films, down to much-awaited reality shows like "Physical: 100" Season 2 and "Single's Inferno" Season 4, the streaming giant also included promising dramas such as "The Trunk."
Headlined by two A-list stars, Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo, it depicts the story of a fictional marriage service agency that caters to those who want to find their significant others.
Seo Hyun Jin takes on the role of Noh In Ji, an employee of the matchmaking company who chooses to be single - not until she crosses paths with music producer Han Jeong Won (Gong Yoo).
"The Trunk" is slated to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2024 and will exclusively air on the streaming platform.
Will Gong Yoo Appear in 'Squid Game' Season 2?
Other than "The Trunk," viewers will get to see more of the South Korean heartthrob as he returns to the small screen.
Gong Yoo will reprise his role as the mystery salesman in Netflix's "Squid Game."
As Netflix teased viewers with exciting still cuts, especially with Gong Yoo's scene with Lee Jung Jae, viewers can't wait to see the top star return as the enigmatic individual.
Interestingly, director Hwang Dong Hyuk previously mentioned that the sequel will focus on original cast members like The Frontman and Gong Yoo's characters.
