'Exhuma' Lands Perfect Streak In Box Office
There's no slowing down for Kim Go Eun's dark fantasy film "Exhuma" as it continues to enjoy its perfect streak in the South Korean box office.
On March 1, the Korean Film Council announced that the film has recorded more than 4 million admissions in just over a week, creating history in the South Korean cinema.
It was declared as the biggest production in the industry in 2024 so far as it grossed over 27 million USD, besting the films "Dog Days," "Alienoid: Return to the Future" and more.

Kim Go Eun Admits Being Spooked By 'Exhuma' Theme
Kim Go Eun transformed into a shaman who works with a mortician and a feng shui master in relocating a grave in exchange for money.
She left an impactful performance in the film, impressing even real-life shamans. In a follow-up interview, Kim Go Eun revealed that playing a shaman role initially scared her.
"Since I played a shaman with Lee Do Hyun, we went to see a ritual several times that lasted for hours," she revealed. "Although it was cool, it was the most scary and stressful for me."
Not only did the ritual send chills in her spine, recreating the whole thing also made her nervous. She said, "I worried about how to successfully pull the performance off."
Thankfully, the shaman teachers were patient enough to teach her the ritual. They also generously answered questions that helped her synchronize with her character more.
Meanwhile, Kim Go Eun chose the words "detailed" and "engrossing" to describe "Exhuma." She reasoned, "I spent a lot of time concentrating on how to perfect my role. It all paid off in the end."
