Lee Dong Wook Reveals Why He Rarely Talks About His Past Relationships in Public

Known for his versatility and strong presence on and off the screen, Lee Dong Wook is one of the most admired and respected actors in the industry.

But despite his long-existing career, the heartthrob has been private when it comes to his romantic relationships. It was only one time that he was confirmed to be dating, and it was when he was romantically involved with idol-actress Bae Suzy. The two dated for less than a year.

However, it doesn't mean that he has been single the whole time.

During the press conference of his movie "Single in Seoul," he was asked if he would ever write a novel about his first love, like his character in the movie.

Lee Dong Wook immediately rejected the idea and said it would simply be too embarrassing for others to know about his romantic relationships. Aside from that, he has a deeper reason why.

Lee Dong Wook Says It's 'Not Respectful' to Talk About His Exes Without Their Consent

As someone who has been in the industry for so long, Lee Dong Wook has been considerate of others anywhere he goes. According to him, it is not respectful to talk about his ex-girlfriends without receiving their permission.

The heartthrob said that it would be very inconsiderate of his ex-girlfriend if he published a book about her without her consent.

"The readers may not know who I am referring to, but my ex would know. For the same reason, I try to avoid going into too many details about my past romantic relationships during interviews."

Lee Dong Wook has lived by those words for years. Even during his appearance in the SBS reality show "Roommate" members of the program tried to ask for more information about his past lovers, and he stopped his sister from revealing any information about their identities.

Indeed, the actor is a gentleman who respects the privacy of the people he cares about. He even mentioned that his dating life is not as eventful as his on-screen romances.

Meanwhile, Lee Dong Wook successfully concluded his thriller drama "A Shop for Killers," which is rumored to have season 2. He is also gearing for his next work "The Good Man," a gangster series, which is scheduled to premiere sometime this 2024.
