Lee Ji Ah Names Best Life Work Yet As Actress
Earlier this year, Lee Ji Ah reinvented her image as a passionate divorce lawyer in the recently-concluded drama "Queen of Divorce."
As an actress who experienced getting a divorce firsthand, Lee Ji Ah didn't hesitate to take on the role of Kim Sa Ra who saves "marriage victims" from their "bad spouses."
According to her, divorce is not a taboo. It's not a flaw but rather a light of hope for a new beginning. Lee Ji Ah described the JTBC series as a "meaningful work" in her resume.
However, she chose "Penthouse" as her "life work" when asked about her best project yet. The show is a K-drama classic released in 2020 that spanned over three seasons.
Lee Ji Ah reasoned, "No matter what I think about it, my character in "Penthouse" really spoke to me. She struggled a lot, that's why my heart goes to her."
Lee Ji Ah on Money Talks As Hallyu Superstar
In the same interview, Lee Ji Ah opened up about how money affects one's career in the entertainment scene.
Previously, Kim Go Eun, Lee Ji Ah's real life best friend and fellow actress, made a remark regarding money which attracted a lot of opinions from fans and critics.
According to her, she takes money into account whether she would accept or decline an acting offer. Kim Go Eun reasoned that as an artist, she must get her money's worth.
Lee Ji Ah gave Kim Go Eun a nod, agreeing to her statement, saying, "While passion for acting and money seem dark when put together, it's a mindset that I do agree with."
"There are people who look after me so I need to live up to their expectations," Lee Ji Ah added. "But I also have to pay my dues, of course."
As for her dream role, she hopes to play a vivacious character in the future. Lee Ji Ah has been taking on melancholic roles but the actress shared that she has a lot more to offer.
