'Queen of Tears,' 'Wonderful World' & 'Flex X Cop' to Compete for No. 1 in Rating War
Based on the data gathered by Nielsen Korea on March 10, the historical epic series "Goryeo-Khitan War" concluded its finale episode with a 13.8 percent rating, breaking its own highest record and topping all programs aired at the same time.
Just a week after the drama ended, the weekend primetime which boasted a solid fixed audience base offered a wide variety of shows that are now competing against each other.
MBC's Friday-Saturday series "Wonderful World," SBS' Friday-Saturday drama "Flex X Cop" and tvN's Saturday-Sunday drama "Queen of Tears" faced off for the vacancy.
Given that these three series have different themes and number of episodes since they are grouped into weekend dramas, they cannot avoid being competitive for viewership ratings. Especially since these series are composed of leading actors Kim Soo Hyun, Cha Eun Woo, and Ahn Bo Hyun.
Cha Eun Woo's 'Wonderful World' Continues to Record High Rating
Starring Cha Eun Woo and Kim Nam Joo, "Wonderful World" episode 6 which aired on March 16 garnered an average score of 7.3 percent nationwide. It has been said that it was on a gradual rise since the first episode began with 5.3 percent.
Meanwhile, Ahn Bo Hyun's "Flex X Cop" which aired its episode 14 on March 16, recorded an average score of 9.8 percent nationwide and 10.6 percent in the Seoul metropolitan area. Since the series is about to bid farewell next week, the expectations for the next episodes are increasing.

Lastly, Kim Soo Hyun's comeback drama "Queen of Tears" never fails to make headlines since it premiered on March 9. Its third episode reached a new high rating of 9.6 percent. Impressively, its latest episode 4 made another significant move as it recorded the drama's first-ever double-digit rating.
Nielsen Korea revealed that the rom-com series soared to its highest viewership ratings yet with 13.0 percent, marking an impressive 3.4 percent jump from the previous episode. It also took the first place in its time slot across all channels.
