SBS teased viewers with the script reading of the upcoming K-drama "Connection," starring Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do.
Showcasing an amazing chemistry, the cast members filled the room with enthusiasm and immersion as they delved into their respective roles.
'Connection' Script Reading Features Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Di as Main Characters
Helmed by "Trolley" director Kim Moon Kyo and screenwriter Lee Hyun of "Diary of a Prosecutor," the upcoming series "Connection" is a crime.thriller K-drama that highlights the story of a group of friends, tracking the death of their high school friend after leaving behind a hefty amount of insurance money.
Ji Sung takes on the character of top-notch detective Jang Jae Kyung, who gained a positive impression from his colleagues in the narcotics unit.
"Connection" will be Ji Sung's K-drama comeback after his dual role in the crime series "Adamas."
Meanwhile, viewers will get to see his connection with the outspoken reporter, Oh Yoon Jin, played by Jeon Mi Do.
Best known for her role as the skilled neurosurgeon in "Hospital Playlist," she showcased her versatility in drama after joining Son Ye Jin and Kim Ji Hyun in the melodrama "Thirty Nine."
As seen in the photos released by SBS, the two lead stars create an exciting atmosphere, making fans look forward to the upcoming K-drama.
Another factor why "Connection" is raising anticipation for its release is the cast members joining the series.
'Connection' Cast and Release Date
While the upcoming K-drama boasts an amazing team-up between Jeon Mi Do and Ji Sung, "Connection" also showcases a roster of talented stars who will be playing the lead characters.
Kwon Yool, who played the villain in "Voice," will be returning to the small screen as the nerdy prosecutor Park Tae Jin.
Adding to the list of "Connection" cast members is Kim Kyung Nam, who will take on the villain role of Won Jong Soo. He will play the money- and power-obsessed vice chairman of Geum Hyun Group.
Lastly, Jung Soon Won will portray the character of Heo Joo Song, the cheerful and friendly CEO of Two Star Holdings.
Slated to premiere on SBS this May, the production team hints at what to expect in the upcoming series.
"Connection' is a well-made drama that has artistic quality, timeliness, and a strong message. During the script reading, we became convinced that 'Connection' has the potential to follow the success formula of SBS's Friday-Saturday dramas," a representative shared, as obtained by a media outlet.
Meanwhile, Ji Sung and Jeon Mi Do's new drama is expected to air after "The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection" aired its finale episode.
