The clash between Ryu Sun Jae (Byeon Woo Seok) and Kim Tae Seong (Song Geon Hee) has commenced in "Lovely Runner" Episode 5.
'Lovely Runner' Episode 5: Ryu Sun Jae, Im Sol Create More Memories Together
As she started to remember her memories, Im Sol learned that Ryu Sun Jae was the one who saved her from an unfortunate accident in the past. She stated that maybe the reason she time-traveled was to remember all the moments she had with Sun Jae, and never miss the signals again knowing that they were fated to each other.
The next morning, she and Sun Jae went to bury her time capsule and said that they should meet at the Han River at midnight on January 1, 2023, and open it together.
Afterward, as the swimming competition in which Park Tae Hwan approached, Im Sol became worried about Sun Jae and asked him out on a surprise date. Their sweet interactions made Ryu Sun Jae's heart flutter, making him more in love with her.
She also learned how to ride a bike from him, and the two built unforgettable memories together.
Love Triangle Begins Between Kim Tae Seong, Ryu Sun Jae, & Im Sol
At the same time, the love triangle between Ryu Sun Jae, Im Sol, and Kim Tae Seong began.
The retired swimmer thought that Tae Seong was only using Im Sol to discourage a female student who liked him, so he was furious. Kim Tae Seong, on the other hand, noticed that Im Sol has a close relationship with Sun Jae.
To show off, he wiped the cream off Im Sol's lips with his finger and called her his girlfriend, making Sun Jae jealous.
As the story progressed, at the request of his friend Baek In Hyuk (Lee Sung Hyub), Ryu Sun Jae stood on stage in place of Eclipse's vocalist who failed to attend the gig. Im Sol saw him shining and being happy performing on stage.
