"Queen of Tears" star Lee Joo Bin is set to headline a new K-drama, as she teams up with Jung Sung Il for the upcoming thriller series "Guardian."
Following the success of the tvN rom-com K-drama, the 34-year-old actress was selected to take on another challenging role.
Lee Joo Bin Teams Up With Jung Sung Il in 'Guardian'
In an exclusive report, scene-stealer Lee Joo Bin has been casted to play the female lead of the upcoming K-drama "Guardian."
As for her next role, drama officials are yet to announce what character she will be portraying.
With this, she will be teaming up with Jung Sung Il, whose popularity rose after joining the blockbuster K-drama "The Glory." He will be taking on the protagonist, Bok Tae Ju, who is also known by his moniker, "Grim Reaper."
Bok Tae Ju works as an electronic supervisor and probation officer. He has a reputation for doing whatever it takes to punish the perpetrators and put them behind bars.
Interestingly, viewers' expectations are focused on the duo's upcoming work, as they both showcased amazing performances in "The Glory" and "Queen of Tears."

Meanwhile, the upcoming K-drama will be helmed by "Lies Hidden in My Garden" and "Twenty-Five Twenty-One" director Jung Ji Hyun.
Lee Joo Bin on Her 'Queen of Tears' Character
During Lee Joo Bin's shoot with Esquire Korea, the actress dishes on her experience filming with a slew of top stars and veterans as well as playing the villain in "Queen of Tears."
According to the 34-year-old beauty, she confessed to having apprehensions before taking on the role of Cheon Da Hye in the hit rom-com K-drama.
"I'm anxious about who I will be among the amazing acting of the seniors I'm with," she said, adding, "When I see a senior who is good at acting, I try to imitate his lines at home alone."
As for her character, she initially didn't see Cheon Da Hye as the drama's antagonist because of certain emotions and actions she portrays.
"Watching the recent broadcast, I thought, 'Oh my gosh, she's a bad girl' and 'Let's live a good life, Dahye,'" she said, changing her perspective with the character.
In "Queen of Tears," viewers witnessed her chemistry with on-screen partner Hong Soo Cheol, played by Kwak Dong Hyeon.
The rom-com series is some of Lee Joo Bin's famous works; however, K-drama fans might recognize her from the hit K-drama adaptation "Money Heist: Korea," where she played secretary Yun Mi Seon.
As for her upcoming projects, she will be joining Ma Dong Seok in "The Outlaws 4" as cyber investigation team detective Han Ji Soo.
