Jung Sung Il has signed under the agency XYZ STUDIO after leaving KeyEast.

In a report, the management company established by CEO Kim Hyung Dae officially welcomed "The Glory" star to their agency.

Jung Sung Il Signs With XYZ STUDIO

On May 3, Jung Sung Il officially signed an exclusive contract with XYZ STUDIO a month after leaving his then-agency, KeyEast.

"He is an actor who can show off his talents. We will do our best to support him both financially and spiritually so that he can bloom more colorfully through a wide range of activities, so please show a lot of expectations and support for Jeong Sung Il."

Jung Sung Il's new agency is home to several top stars like Jo Bo Ah, Ji Won Ji, and model and "Queen of Tears" actress Jang Yoon Ju. As mentioned, the actor parted ways with KeyEast in April 2024 after his contract expired.

Meanwhile, Jung Sung Il's major career move comes prior to his return to the small screen.

What's Next for Jung Sung Il?

Starting as a musical actor, Jung Sung Il made his acting debut on-screen after taking on a bit part in the "Art of Seduction" movie in 2005. From small roles, he took on supporting actor roles and had his first K-drama lead through Netflix's "The Glory."

Jung Sung Il instantly stole the hearts of viewers with his amazing portrayal of Ha Do Young, the husband of antagonist Park Yeon Jin, played by Lim Ji Yeon. Since then, the actor has received major praise from viewers both locally and internationally.

Because of "The Glory" craze, netizens named Jung Sung Il as the "hot ahjussi" of K-drama for his swoon-worthy visuals. After the Netflix series, viewers will get to see him once again in a slew of upcoming K-dramas.

Jung Sung Il is currently starring in the webtoon-based series "Begins Youth," where he plays the role of Seo Ji Hoon's father.

In addition to this, he is slated to headline the thriller mystery K-drama "Unmasked" with award-winning actress Kim Hye Soo. Adding to the list of Jung Sung Il's upcoming dramas is "Guardians," with "Queen of Tears" villain Lee Joo Bin.

Jung Sung Il Reveals His Dream Role

During his appearance in JTBC News, Jung Sung Il revealed that he initially wanted to play the role of "The Glory" villain Jeon Jae Jun, which was portrayed by Park Sung Hoon.

According to the actor, he "likes gangster roles," and upon reading the script, it was the character that intrigued him and "thought it'd be fun."

As for his future plans in the industry, Jung Sung Il wants to try more laid-back roles because, according to him, viewers often see his character wearing sleek suits.
