Park Sung Hoon continues to attract attention as he stars in back-to-back hit K-dramas. From "The Glory '' to "Queen of Tears," the South Korean heartthrob has maintained to pique the interest of viewers with his interesting characters.
In an interview with a local media outlet, the actor shared the remarkable experience he had filming his recent projects and his honest thoughts on how the public perceived him in his new roles.
For OG K-drama fans, viewers might recognize him from the dramas "Six Flying Dragons" and "Jealousy Incarnate," where he plays supporting roles.
Although he has been in the industry for almost two decades, it was only in 2022 that Park Sung Hoon achieved global fame after joining "The Glory."
Headlined by Song Hye Kyo and Lee Do Hyun, the 39-year-old actor took on the villain role and played Jeon Jae Joon, one of Moon Dong Eun's bullies.
Due to the huge craze created by the K-drama, viewers saw him as a villain.
This image continued when he appeared in "Queen of Tears," portraying the antagonist character of Yoon Eun Seong.
During his interview, Park Sung Hoon says it was all a "coincidence."
"Since Jeon Jae Joon and Yoon Eun Sung would inevitably be compared, I paid attention to my tone and styling."

Despite portraying two villain roles, Park Sung Hoon says he "aimed for a more gentlemanly appearance" for his character on "Queen of Tears.'
"I wanted Eun-sung to have a more threatening feel when angry, unlike Jae Joon," who had a rough look.

With the popularity of the drama, Park Sung Hoon admitted that he received mixed reactions from viewers and netizens. "I get a lot of comments and messages on SNS, including various profanities and challenges like 'Get lost' and 'Fight me'."
Despite this, the actor says he never felt "upset or hurt" because he sees this as part of his job, and this only means that viewers were invested in his characters, and it's "normal for villains to be hated."
"I think of it as people showing interest because they love the dramas, which makes me happy," he added.
Interestingly, Park Sung Hoon joked that he almost thought of changing his name to his "The Glory" character because he is often referred to as Jeon Jae Joon.
"I almost considered changing my name to Jeon Jae-joon," he said, adding, "People sometimes call me 'Park Jae-joon' or 'Yoon Jae-hoon'" which is a combination of his real name and his K-drama characters.
Although he didn't mind being called by his characters, he wished that people would still recall him as Park Sung Hoon.
"I hope one day people will remember me by my real name, Park Sung-hoon, over my characters' names."
After "Queen of Tears," Park Sung Hoon is set to return with another highly anticipated K-drama.
He will be joining the star-studded cast of "Squid Game" season 2 alongside Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, and new cast members Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neuk, and more.
