‘Queen of Tears’ Star Kim Do Hyun Impressed by Kim Soo Hyun’s Kind Gesture

Kim Do Hyun revealed the unexpected gesture his "Queen of Tears" co-star Kim Soo Hyun did to him and the rest of the drama's cast members.

Kim Do Hyun Talks About Experiences Working With Kim Soo Hyun in 'Queen of Tears'

On May 15, Kim Do Hyun made his guest appearance on MBC's television program "Radio Star." 

During his special guest appearance on the show, Kim Do Hyun talked about his experience of working with Kim Soo Hyun, who is considered one of the top stars in South Korea. The two starred in tvN's recently-concluded and smashing hit series "Queen of Tears."

The host of the program Kim Gu Ra asked "I heard that Kim Soo Hyun took exceptional care of you while filming the drama. Is that right?"

Kim Do Hyun agreed and shared the kind gesture of the actor that impressed him the most.

"It was winter and we wore padded coats for outdoor shoots. I'd been wearing the same one for over a decade and decided it was time for a new one. But it was pretty expensive."

He added that every time he went shopping, he tended to return the item as it was too expensive to purchase. Kim Do Hyun said that he was planning to buy a new one after concluding "Reborn Rich" but unfortunately, he couldn't find the item he wanted to purchase. 

Kim Soo Hyun's Generosity & Kind Gesture Impressed Kim Do Hyun

Then "Queen of Tears" filming started and he shared, "On the set of 'Queen of Tears,' I saw Kim Soo Hyun wearing the exact padded coat I wanted. So I asked him if it was a sponsored coat or celebrities-only special edition since I couldn't find it anywhere."

Kim Soo Hyun then replied to him saying that the coat was available in stores. 

"And then at our next shoot, he brought a new one in a box and gave it to me as a gift." Kim Do Hyun went on, "What was surprising was that he also gifted the same item to all the members of the Yongduri family and the Queens Group. That really impressed me."

Kim Do Hyun played the role of Baek Hyun Tae, the elder brother of Baek Hyun Woo, in which Kim Soo Hyun portrayed in "Queen of Tears."

"Queen of Tears" broke records and even now holds the title of the most highly rated drama in tvN's history, surpassing the previous viewership rating of Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin's "Crash Landing on You." 

The newly-concluded drama is still receiving recognition abroad, making Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won's solo fan meeting happen in the upcoming months.
