The Kim Ji Won Syndrome
As mentioned, due to the drama's popularity, Kim Ji Won caused a scene at Seoul's Incheon International Airport after the South Korean star was mobbed by fans and media.
On social media, various clips from netizens showed how the actress was greeted by a large crowd as she arrived at the airport.
Although she was accompanied by tight security, several fans were seen swarming Kim Ji Won in hopes of getting her attention. Others even tried to give her gifts like flowers and letters, expressing how they adore the actress. Due to this, the incident caused a major disturbance at the airport.
On the other hand, Kim Ji Won's agency released a statement addressing the safety concerns regarding the incident.
In a report, HighZium Studio said that they were "aware of the severity of the safety issues" but explained that they laid out plans to avoid this.
"First, in order to secure a safe distance, we ask that you refrain from excessive filming or delivering letters and gifts directly.
Also, for security reasons, outside of general public areas, we ask that you refrain entirely from taking photos or filming videos at the airport departure hall or duty-free area."
