"Crash" continues to set the bar high for weekday drama as the crime investigation drama is heating up the Monday-Tuesday program lineup.

After kicking off with an impressive start, the ENA series is leading the rating race with remarkable viewership.

Officially aired on May 13, "Crash" continues to deliver not just interesting stories that keep viewers hooked with every episode but also increase ratings.

Headlined by the amazing cast lineup of Lee Min Ji, Kwak Sun Young, "Squid Game '' villain Heo Sung Tae, and Lee Ho Chul, the crime suspense series shows no signs of slowing down as it enters its second half.

Is 'Crash' Following the Success of Fellow ENA K-drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'?

In a report, Nielsen Korea recorded an average nationwide rating of 5.9 percent. Although it was a minimal increase from its previous episode of 5.1 percent, the 8th episode marked the drama's new all time high ratings.

As for its fellow Monday and Tuesday K-drama, tvN's new series "The Player 2: Master of Swindlers" experienced a small dip in viewership after garnering an average nationwide rating of 4.0 percent for its June 4 broadcast.

Lastly, KBS2's "Dare to Love Me," which also entered its second half of the season, continued to struggle with the ratings race after keeping the viewership rating of 1.1 percent, which was the same as its previous rating.

Apart from this, "Crash" also scored a new achievement after becoming the second-highest viewership rating in ENA drama history.

As mentioned by a media outlet, Lee Min Ki and Kwak Sun Young's drama is predicted to be the next K-drama craze after the ENA series "Extraordinary Attorney Woo."

The upward trend of "Crash" viewership also raised expectations about how they would keep these figures up until the season finale.

Is K-drama 'Crash' Worth the Hype?

An action thriller K-drama with a hint of comedy, "Crash" focuses on the crime investigation mission of the Traffic Crime Investigation (TCI) team headed by the new lead, Cha Yeon Ho, played by Lee Min Ki.

He graduated from Korea's top university, KAIST, and has the knowledge and ability to simulate and analyze traffic incidents.

However, behind his special skills, he is known for his zero social skills, and, ironically, he has no talent for driving.

With his new position, Cha Yeon Ho meets the TCI team's top officer, Min So Hee, played by Kwak Sun Young.

She is famous for her combat skills, who exudes amazing martial arts talent and of course, mad skills in driving.

Adding to the list of "Crash" cast members is Heo Sung Tae, who took on the role of TCI's veteran team leader, Jung Chae Man. He is the person who formed the TCI team.

In a previous interview, Lee Min Ki revealed the reason why he said yes to playing the role of Cha Yeon Ho in "Crash."

According to him, he fell in love with the character of Yeon Ho, who "barely has any macho or heroic tendencies that detective characters normally showcase."

Adding to that, the character showcases a different kind of anti-hero.

Meanwhile, "Crash" airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. KST via ENA, Disney+, and Hulu.
