Ahn Bo Hyun Reveals Starting in the Modeling Industry by Mere Coincidence: “It’s the a Path I Stumbled By Chance’

Ahn Bo Hyun recalled the beginning of his career, where he worked as a model, and how he landed it by coincidence.

Ahn Bo Hyun Dreams of Being in Superhero-Themed Drama Like 'Moving'

During his interview with Single's Korea, the "Yumi's Cells" star shared his plans for the industry and the projects he dreams of doing in the future.

Known for his versatility in acting, Ahn Bo Hyun's career skyrocketed after landing the villain role in "Itaewon Class" with Park Seo Joon and Kim Da Mi. From then on, he continues to captivate viewers with his ability to perfectly portray the character, regardless of genre.

In his latest interview then, the South Korean heartthrob told Single's Korea that he is looking forward to doing villain roles again; however, this time, he wants to be in action fantasy projects.

"After 'Itaewon Class,' I would like to play a proper villain once again. I also want to try my hand at a superhero role."

According to him, he was deeply moved by Disney+'s "Moving," and after watching it, it sparked his curiosity about "how they filmed those scenes, as well as admiration for the actors who pulled it off and the CG technology involved."

The actor added that he is open to "exploring different genres and new types of filming and production."

Other than "Itaewon Class," Ahn Bo Hyun showcased his boy-next-door vibe in "Yumi's Cells" when he played as the love interest of Kim Go Eun as Yumi.

According to him, he opted for that type of role to "portray diverse facets through characters."

"Following 'Itaewon Class,' I was offered many villain roles, but instead of opting for similar characters, I chose 'Yumi's Cells' to display a completely different side."

He added that he also considers these types of factors when selecting his next projects.

Other than his plans in the industry, Ahn Bo Hyun also recalled his humble beginnings.

Like other actors, he also started out as a model; however, he revealed that it wasn't his intention to enter the industry. According to him, he is into sports and once saw it as his career.

Being tall, he usually gets offers to join sports clubs like basketball, but he fell in love with boxing.

"My middle school had a boxing club, and I found it to be a really cool sport. Because it's an individual sport, it constantly pushed and expanded my physical and mental limits, and I found that appealing."

Unfortunately, due to an injury, he had to halt his boxing career but was told that he could utilize his features, specifically his height, in modeling.

"Modeling was purely a path that I stumbled onto by chance."

He added that it was his friends and family who suggested that he try his luck in modeling.

"At the time, I was confident about any work that required using my body, so I boldly took on the challenge without knowing much about it."
