Yeo Jin Goo Names THIS Actress He Truly Admires: ‘2 Hours of Praising Her is Not Enough’
Yeo Jin Goo dished on his working relationship with IU and what she's like behind the camera.
The actor and "Love Wins All" singer starred in the hit tvN K-drama "Hotel Del Luna," where IU played as Hotel CEO Jang Man Wol, while Yeo Jin Goo took on the character of assistant manager Goo Chan Sung.
Airing in 2019, the rom-com fantasy became a huge hit not just in Korea but also overseas. At the time, "Hotel Del Luna" became the highest-rated drama in tvN history after garnering an average rating of 12% on the whole season run.
Yeo Jin Goo Says '2 Hours is Not Enough' to Praise IU
During his appearance in "Yoo Quiz on the Block" to promote his movie "Hijacking," Yeo Jin Goo went all out in praising IU. There, host Yoo Jae Suk recalled an interview with IU when she praised Yeo Jin Goo.
At the time, the singer-actress mentioned that her "Hotel Del Luna" co-star is a person whom she cannot praise for an hour.
As for Yeo Jin Goo, he went all out and expressed his gratitude for IU. On top of it, he revealed he is deeply in awe of how talented she is as an artist.
"IU is someone who cannot be praised for two hours. I was very surprised. She has a lot of talent that cannot be described in words. I thought she was so diverse."
It can be recalled that both IU and Yeo Jin Goo have positive things to say about each other, even during the script-reading and the finale of "Hotel Del Luna."
In a separate interview in 2019, the actress said that she was "really happy" when she heard that she would be working alongside Yeo Jin Goo.
"I thought he suited the role of Chan Sung very well. He also came very well prepared for the first reading. I thought that I should also practice hard."
In addition to this, IU even named her male co-star as their "lucky charm."
"After Yeo Jin Goo was cast, everything started to work out well on set. I think he's our lucky charm."
Yeo Jin Goo To Make His First Villain Role
Returning to the big screen with the promising movie "Hijacking," Yeo Jin Goo plays the antagonist, Yong Dae. He is the man behind the hijacking that happened in the airspace of Korea in 1971.
Born and raised in Sokcho, Gangwon Province, Yong Dae faced discrimination after his brother was accused of being a member of the North Korean People's Army during the Korean War. Due to this, he was wrongfully accused and imprisoned.
As a result, Yong Dae wants to reunite with his brother by boarding a plane going to the north; however, things went south when he declared hijacking.
Joining him in the upcoming movie are Ha Jung Woo, Sung Dong Il, and Chae Soo Bin.
"Hijacking" will officially hit theaters on June 21.
