What's Next for Kim Hye Yoon After 'Lovely Runner's' Success?

Having been in the show business for almost a decade, Kim Hye Yoon has already established an amazing portfolio as an actress.

Kim Hye Yoon has amassed a huge fandom and rose to global stardom thanks to her successful drama "Lovely Runner." She played the role of Im Sol, a fangirl who travels back in time to save her favorite idol Ryu Sun Jae (Byeon Woo Seok).

Now that "Lovely Runner" has ended, many global fans are anticipating Kim Hye Yoon's screen return. 

Kim Hye Yoon To Possibly Star in Youth Romance Drama

In June, her name received attention as she was reported to join the lead cast of the forthcoming drama "The Year We Turned 29" (working title). It has been said that Kim Hye Yoon already received the offer in April 2022.

As of this writing, she is considering appearing in the series and nothing has been confirmed yet, as stated by her agency, Artist Company. Idol-actress Joy of Red Velvet is also being courted to join the project. 

"The Year We Turned 29" is a youth romance drama that follows the story of three individuals, whose name is Woo Ri, and at the same age of 29. They navigate the struggles of love, work, and studies. As they approach their thirties, these three women learn to mature and rely on each other while experiencing the journey of life together.

If Kim Hye Yoon accepts the offer, this marks her next screen comeback following "Lovely Runner."

For now, she is enjoying her break and is about to embark on her solo fan meeting in Korea and Japan this July.

She is also sealing new collaborations with other brands, recognizing her growing popularity. She just went abroad to shoot some of her brand advertisements. Kim Hye Yoon is also amassing new followers on social media. 

In addition, she received a nomination for the Seoul International Drama Awards 2024 along with her on-screen partner Byeon Woo Seok.
