Son Ye Jin as Villain? Top Actress Hints At Filming Her New Acting Project

Top actress Son Ye Jin expressed her interest in roles she wanted to portray next and excites the public with the acting project she is preparing for, hinting at her much-awaited return. 

Son Ye Jin Talks About Motherhood

On July 6, Son Ye Jin made her public appearance and headlined the Bucheon International Film Festival's mega talk session. During the event, the actress opened up about her career, and the new chapter of her life as a wife and as a mother for the first time, since her entertainment hiatus.  

According to the seasoned actress, she spent the past two years for herself including marriage, childbirth, and childcare. 

She added that actors tend to be selfish but for her, "I guess I have broadened my horizon and my heart has also become softer after having a child. It was the time that made me forget that I was an actress."

She mentioned how challenging yet fulfilling it was to navigate her journey being a mother, "It brought me happiness more than I could imagine. Then suddenly, I wondered what kind of role I should play and how I would act in it, and decided that I would use these emotions, which I experienced for the first time, in acting."

Son Ye Jin shared more of her personal stories about parenting and how becoming a mother and getting married changed her perspective on things that have changed her life big time. 

Son Ye Jin Expresses Interest in Portraying Villain Role

Apart from her motherhood, the "Crash Landing on You" actress also expressed her desire to portray new characters that will challenge her acting chops.

"I really want to play a villain role and I think I can do it well. Or, I also want to try an action film and play a mother role." 

Son Ye Jin excites the crowd when she hinted at her busy schedule as she had already chosen her next acting project.

"I think I'll be very busy from the second half of 2024," raising expectations for her screen comeback.

To recall, it was reported that Son Ye Jin was in talks to lead a new thriller film along with Lee Byung Hun and Yoo Yeon Seok. Adding to the stellar cast are Lee Sung Min and Yeom Hye Ran. 

Since it will be an original work by Park Chan Wook, the production team is said to be in the stages of sorting out copyright issues, before progressing to filming.
