Yoo Yeon Seok - Son Ye Jin Movie? Korean Stars Reported To Headline A Film Together

Yoo Yeon Seok and Son Ye Jin are reportedly being courted to join the cast of a movie by "Oldboy" director Park Chan Wook. 

Based on the news cited by a media outlet on July 2, Yoo Yeon Seok is being courted to headline Park Chan Wook's upcoming film.

After the news broke out, his label, King Kong by Starship responded confirming the potential work.

"Yoo Yeon Seok received an offer to appear in Director Park's movie and is currently reviewing it."

Media insiders claimed that this project is one that Park Chan Wook PD'nim has been preparing for years. As a preparation, the production team is already in the stages of sorting out copyright issues as the film will be based on an original project. 

Earlier this year, Son Ye Jin was reported to lead the movie along with veteran actors Lee Byung Hun, Lee Sung Min, and Yeom Hye Ran.

Even though the title and the plot of the movie have not been revealed yet, fans are already looking forward to this work as it doesn't just include big names of stars but also marks Son Ye Jin's big screen return following her entertainment hiatus.

Elsewhere, if Yoo Yeon Seok accepts the offer, it will be his reunion project with Park Chan Wook after a decade since they first collaborated in the 2003 movie "Old Boy," which marks Yoo Yeon Seok's big screen debut. 

Yoo Yeon Seok Returns to Small Screen With 'The Number You Have Dialed'

On the other hand, while waiting for his silver screen appearance, Yoo Yeon Seok will meet the viewers first with his small screen comeback. He is confirmed to headline another romance series "The Number You Have Dialed" (working title).

It is based on a web novel of the same name, which depicts the romance of a couple who entered a marriage of convenience three years ago. They don't communicate that much until they receive a threatening phone call from a kidnapper. 

Yoo Yeon Seok will take the role of Baek Sa Eon, a former news anchor who became the younger spokesperson of the Blue House. His life takes a sudden twist when he receives a phone call informing him that his wife is missing. 

Joining him is "I Am Not A Robot" actress Chae Soo Bin, who will play Yoo Yeon Seok's other half, Hong Hee Joo. 

"The Number You Have Dialed" is scheduled to occupy the Friday and Saturday slots on MBC. The confirmed date of release is yet to be announced.
