As for the intimate scene between their characters, "The Midnight Romance in Hagwon" director Ahn Pan Seok helped him become immersed as Seo Hye Jin, who never had a serious relationship in her life.
"While filming the kiss scene, the director told me Hye Jin (her character) was in a relationship for the first time. I wanted to lead since I've filmed more scenes like this than Ha Jun, but I couldn't act too skilled. So, we both ended up being quite awkward."
Keeping things on a professional level, Jung Ryeo Won said that they both "embraced the awkwardness" but ended up with a remarkably heart-tugging scene.
"There was a moment during the kiss scene where my hand slipped, and we burst into laughter. I thought it was a blooper, but the director kept it because it looked so genuine."
As the romance K-drama aired its final episode on June 30, Jung Ryeo Won and Wi Ha Joon's drama ended with the show's highest viewership after garnering an average nationwide rating of 6.6 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.
