South Korean pop star IU opened up about the intense injury she suffered during her recent world tour.
The artist reflected on the challenges she faced during a concert performance in a video she uploaded on her channel titled "IU's Unseen Battle with Injury."
After putting on a good show, IU said, "Honestly, I had a lot of pain in my leg today. This is difficult to see, but this was the first time I had to use this type of sports taping."
Fans got to see her wrapped foot in tape.
She was hurt when her suitcase wheel got broken, which tripped and fell on her, injuring her foot. IU explained, saying, "In that instant, I cut the line of cable that goes up to my brain; I separated the situation of the foot from the brain. Performing was emotional. I cried anyway, despite having blocked this circuit."
IU is now on her five-month world tour called "2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR: THE WINNING," which started in March with shows at the KSPO Dome in Seoul and will take her to 18 cities worldwide, including Singapore, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, London, Berlin, Atlanta, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles.
An encore concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 22 marked the end of the tour.
Fans have expressed their appreciation to IU for continuing to perform despite the injury.
