Former TVXQ singer-turned-musical-actor Junsu Kim has been reportedly targeted in an 800 million won (about $600,000) blackmail plot.
On November 13, the Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency applied to the district court for an arrest warrant for a female BJ referred to as 'A,' on extortion under the Aggravated Punishment Act for Specific Economic Crimes.
The man is accused of threatening Kim 101 times between September 2020 and October 2024, saying he would release damaging recordings unless he were paid.
The blackmail is said to have started in 2019 after Kim met the suspect, police sources said.
She allegedly recorded voice memos of Kim threatening to leak the tapes on the internet if he didn't pay her. Authorities suspect the motive was money to feed a drug habit.

The female BJ is also currently being investigated for another drug-related case at the Seoul Central District Court in addition to the aforementioned charges.
An official at the Gyeonggi Northern Police Agency said further details could not be released as it is an ongoing investigation.
Kim's agency, Palm Tree Island, on the other hand, has not responded to the situation either.
Kim recently joined up with former TVXQ member Jaejoong Kim and formed a duo called JX.
To commemorate their 20th debut anniversary, the duo held a solo concert 'JX 2024 CONCERT [IDENTITY] in SEOUL' at KSPO DOME.
Kim will also be performing in the musical Aladdin which is set to premiere on November 22.
